How to become a model in 7 easy steps

Hands up if you've ever day dreamed about becoming a model?

Who wouldn't, it's a seriously AWESOME job.

The problem though, is that it can be really hard to get started. How are you supposed to actually become a model?

Luckily for you, we've got 7 steps for you to follow.

7 steps to become a model

1. Love yourself first

Sounds easy right?

Unfortunately, the modelling world can be TOUGH so it's important you LOVE yourself before you enter the industry. Make sure you're comfortable in your own skin and are able to handle the tough parts about modelling.

2. Eat, sleep, practise, repeat

Practise, practise, practise!! If you want to be a model, then it's important you are training yourself at home. Make sure you're confident in front of a camera and that you know how to catwalk!

3. Take some digis and if you can, get some professional photos

In the modelling world, there are 2 types of photos you'll need: digis and portfolio shots. Portfolio shots are taken by professional photographers and are usually edited and much more refined. Digis, however, are the complete opposite.

4. Work out where you fit

Did you know that there are over 10 sub industries within the modelling world? This means that no matter your height, shape, size, look, or background there is a sub industry out there just waiting for you.

5. Do an Instagram detox

One of your biggest tools when you are making your mark in the modelling world is going to be your Instagram. You want it to work for you and help promote you to any potential agents or brands!

6. Get seen by an agency

Once you've got everything together, the next step is to try and get in front of a modelling agency. Why do you need an agent you say? Well, an agent is the one who is linked to the brands and work. Once you sign with them it is their job to promote you and get you working!

7. Be persistent!

If you want to become a model, you have to be a bit patient! Don't be disheartened if things don't go super smoothly the first, second or even third time you try. Many of the top models in the world had to hear heaps of nos before they got their first YES!
