Meet a Model: International Curve Model Elena Crnalic

Welcome to Country Girl Management's first 'Meet a Model' blog post. If you have ever dreamt of being a model or wanted an insight into the life of a professional model, these interviews may be perfect for you.

The first model I would like to introduce is Elena Crnalic. Some of you may have been in contact with her as she has been an event coordinator and model scout with Country Girl Management for a number of years. What some of you may not know, however, is that Elena is an international curve model. She is incredibly passionate about not only promoting body confidence, but also about inspiring girls of all shapes and sizes to embrace their own individual beauty. Check out our interview with her below.

1. Modelling agency?
Viviens Model Management

2. When/how did you get into the industry?
I applied for the Simone Perele and BGM Models search. From 200 girls I got into the top 30 and from there into the top 5. I even had a chance to shoot for the brand's campaign which was showcased all over the country.

3. What is your favourite thing about modelling?
Meeting new people and constantly challenging myself. Modelling is such a great platform to meet people from all over the world! I have made many life long friends from various jobs both here in Australia and overseas. Every person I have worked with has thought me some valuable lessons that I still remember and cherish today.

4. How have you found curve modelling?
Absolutely incredible! Curve modelling is SUCH an empowering part of the industry. All of the girls I have meet and worked with have been absolutely inspiring. We all have one thing in common and that is to spread body positivity and to showcase how important confidence and self belief is. Curve modelling, to me, is definitely all about pushing boundaries that the industry and society has created and creating a more body positive world both in the industry and in society.

5. What has been your biggest hurdle as a curve model?
I think the hardest days were when I was just starting out in the industry. I didn’t know much about it so I had to figure out everything on my own through both good and bad experiences. I love that Country Girl Management doesn’t just provide some amazing opportunities within the industry but also really strongly focuses on providing the girls with some more education about the industry itself.

6. If you were to give any advice to girls who want to get into the curve industry, what would it be?
Be confident and be fearless. Rock your confidence! But most importantly be YOU. Always

7. Are there any size/height requirements to be in the curve industry?
The model is expected to have a minimum height of 173 cm (however, this may vary) and the model needs to be size 10 and upwards. The model needs to be proportionate, confident and healthy, and most of all ready to rock her curves!

8. What is your favourite shoot to date? Why?
My favourite photoshoot of all time must be the Models 1 Curve Campaign we have shot in London! It was such an inspiring photoshoot as I got a chance to work with some of the most famous curve models in the industry. The photoshoot was to promote the curve division within Models 1 and send the message that there is not just one type of a model. Models come in different shapes and sizes!
