Fashion Week: 6 of the most Creative Runway Shows from 2016

Last week it was that time again: Australian Fashion Week. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia is a chance for leading Australian and Asia Pacific designers to showcase their work in the iconic Sydney. Though Fashion Week is an incredibly exciting (and stressful) time for designers, it is also a time for models to really stand out and make a name for themselves. Surrounded by some of the biggest names in the fashion world, MBFW is an opportunity for models to launch their international careers walking for well-known designers in iconic locations. To celebrate this exciting time in the fashion calendar, we have compiled a list of some of the most unique and creative runway shows from 2016 Fashion Weeks worldwide.

Tommy Hilfiger's Spring 2016 Collection (NYFW)

Featuring modelling superstars like Gigi Hadid, designer Tommy Hilfiger went all out in this tropical themes showcase. Models walked around the boardwalk in the collection before taking to the man-made lagoon in the center of the stage.

Moschino by Jeremy Scott Spring/Summer 2016 Collection (Milan FW)

The theme for this runway show was 'STOP, CONSTRUCTION ZONE'. In this creative explosion, Jeremy Scott featured models coming out of an animated carwash wearing a variety of clothing made out of construction equipment!

Emma Hill Spring/Summer Collection 2016 (London FW)

Handbags from designer Emma Hill were showcased in this show themed 'In the Pink'. Models, dressed as hotel staff, walked carrying the pieces on trays and luggage trolleys.

Ashish Spring/Summer Collection 2016 (London FW)

In this fun and nostalgic runway show, models graced the runway wearing sequins and riding skateboards. Models were also covered in confetti!

Chanel Spring/Summer 2016 Collection (Paris FW)

This has got to be one of the most exuberant fashion shows of all time. In this 'Chanel Airlines' themed show, Designer Karl Lagerfeld transformed the Grand Palais in Paris into an airport where models walked throughout terminals and replica aircrafts adorned in the latest collection.

These two models walked to these platforms wearing jackets as other models walked the runway in the collection. At the end of the show, a shower begun and their jackets melted off revealing the crystal-clad dresses below.
